THERE IS POWER IN YOUR WORDS

Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” – Hebrews 11:3

LIGHT FOR NOW: We are to speak the Word, God brings it into fulfillment.

Through faith, we understand that everything came into being by the Word of God. To understand this is to have the express knowledge of the realm from which you operate. The World was framed by words (John 1:1). Everything that was made was made by words (Genesis 1:26). Every action taken is an expression of the word. Words are the media of expression of what is conceived in the heart. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. And the word is in your mouth. In jurisprudence, words are used to pass judgment.  Recall that, after creation, God did not give out names to animals and vegetations. Rather, He empowered Adam to do so and whatever name Adam called is what they answer till today (Genesis 2:19). Our faith can only be professed through words (Genesis 3:15). Words have a creative force.

Man would not embrace the faith if they were not spoken by Christ Himself and the prophets. We only know because knowledge was declared and communicated to us through the use of words (1John 5:20). We are products of the Word. We are born again by the Word of God (1Peter 1:23). The Word of God is the Word of everlasting life. We believe that we are the righteousness of God because it was spoken and written down for our edification.

INSTRUCTION: Speak the word. It is in your mouth.

PRAYER: Father, help me speak positive words into my life, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: Words have creative force.

THE ASSURANCE OF OUR FAITH

Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead – Acts 17:31

LIGHT FOR NOW: The assurance of our faith is in the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

The assurance of our Christian faith is the resurrection from the dead by Jesus Christ, through the power of the Spirit of God. It is the resurrection of Christ from the dead that gave birth to the church, the Christian faith. And it is by the same resurrection power that we all have the boldness to profess our faith in God. If Christ had not risen from the dead, our faith would have been in vain. That is why 1 Corinthians 15:15-17 says, “Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are yet in your sins”. The assurance of the forgiveness of sins is a product of the resurrection of Christ from the dead. For if Christ is not risen, “Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished…. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:18-20).

Also, Romans 7:4 says, “Wherefore, my brethren, ye are also become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruits unto God”. Therefore, beloved, nothing is permitted to remain dead in and around your life. The resurrection of Christ from the dead has brought about life in every aspect of your life. This is the assurance of your Christian faith.

INSTRUCTION: Assure your hearts in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for resurrection power of Christ which is the assurance of my faith, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: You are a product of resurrection.

EXERCISING YOUR FAITH (4)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”   –      Romans 1:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Words are the compass of your life.

You can exercise your faith in the words that you speak.  This is because through your words, you can create or bring to manifestation, the spiritual blessings of God which God has already made available for you to access in Christ Jesus. It is a truth that the things you say today will largely form a part of what you will see tomorrow. You must note that the words that you speak carry spiritual force and they can create. Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life”. His words would always give meaning and life to men and situations. This is why you must always speak the things you want to see in life, not what you have already seen. Remember in Genesis 1:1-2 when at creation, the earth was without form and void, God called forth what He wanted to see and they showed up. Confessing what the word of God says concerning you and the situation you are in does not mean you are lying or denying facts or reality. It is because you believe in the truth of God’s word than in the lying facts that Satan is trying to impose on you.

In Romans 4:17, the Bible tells us that even God “calleth those things that be not as though they were”. Also in Mark 11:23, Jesus said, “That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; He shall have whatsoever he saith”. This shows that it is what you say that you will have. Maybe you have said the right things and still saying the right things but have not seen the right results, keep saying it, don’t give up. God is too faithful to fail. He is too committed to leave you helpless. He says in Numbers 14:28, “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you”. Keep saying it, don’t stop saying it for therein lay your faith which overcometh the world. Praise the Lord!!!

INSTRUCTION: Refuse to speak negative words no matter the situation you find yourself.

PRAYER: Lord, my faith is up. I declare that henceforth I will speak right and achieve right results, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Right sayings bring right results.

EXERCISING YOUR FAITH (3)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”   –      Romans 1:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: It is the knowledge of Christ that you have that opens your eyes to who you are in Christ.

To exercise your faith, you must acknowledge who you are in Christ. You must acknowledge that God is your Father and He has made you His son. “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Romans 1:12; Galatians 4:6). In acknowledging that you are a son of God in Christ, the love of God your Father, and his willingness for you to have everything you need should preoccupy your mind. This is one critical area you must not play with. God’s will for you is that you should prosper all round and be in health even as your soul prospers (3John 1:2). As a believer in Christ, never think that God is against you or angry with you so much that He is waiting for you to have problems so that He can laugh at you. You must know that God’s consistent character and nature is love. Even when you were still in sin and of no use whatsoever to him, He still loved you and want you out of it (Romans 5:8).

You must be persuaded that nothing can separate you from the love of God. Quote Romans 8: 35-39). God is always thinking good about you. He says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”. So you must let it settle it in your spirit man that God is your loving Father, who would do everything possible to ensure that you have your portion in his kingdom. It is His good pleasure that you have a share in His kingdom. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge who you are in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I stir up my faith in you. My expectations shall not be cut off, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: What you don’t know, you cannot manifest.

EXERCISING YOUR FAITH (2)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”   –      Romans 1:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Faith is a spiritual currency for spiritual transactions.

Faith is the currency in which we cash out what God has made available to and for us in the treasures of His kingdom. The Bible says in Ephesians 1:3 that we have all been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ but it takes the faith of Christ in us to cause the blessings to come to manifestation. The believer in Christ can exercise or activate his faith by acknowledging what he already has. This is to say that you must know what God has freely given to you in Christ Jesus. The believer in Christ Jesus does not have a faith problem. He is a believer because he believed, which is faith. The only problem a believer has is a knowledge problem. If your father deposits some money in your bank account for you, as long as you are not aware or have the knowledge that such money has been deposited in your account, and do not take steps to cash it; you will still go about murmuring and complaining until you come to the reality of what has been deposited in the account for you.

Apostle Paul in Philemon 1:6 says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus”. This means that for your faith to be active or effectual, you must know the good things that are in Christ because the same good things are in you too. And what are those good things that are in Christ? They are salvation, righteousness, divine health, victory, glory, wisdom, knowledge, power, miracles, honour, prosperity etc. The lists of the good things that are in Christ are endless but to maximize them, you must come to the knowledge that they are yours. By so doing, you exercise your faith and appropriate all that Christ has done for and in you.

INSTRUCTION: Exercise your faith by acknowledging every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, I acknowledge every good thing that is me because Christ dwells in me, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Faith is to God what fear is to Satan.

EXERCISING YOUR FAITH (1)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”   –      Romans 1:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Faith not expressed is not a winning faith.

To exercise your faith in Christ is to put your faith to work. Even though the Spirit of faith is given to you as a believer in Christ as a gift, you still have the responsibility to exercise it. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”. Whatever you receive as a gift, belongs to you, and how you use it is purely your responsibility, if you are given a car today and you decide that not to drive it, it does not negate the fact that you were gifted a car. The gift of God is without repentance (Romans 11:29).  This means not God does not change His mind. He does not react. God’s giving is not a reaction of what you have done. Even in the secular world, there is a saying that a gift is a gift. This principle implies that once something has been given to you as a gift, not even the giver can take it back. According to our text for today, faith is a gift of God and it is given to everyone at salvation by the Spirit of faith. The believer in Christ does not have a faith problem (1 Corinthians 12:9; 2 Corinthians 4:13).

When you receive the gift of the spirit of faith, you are expected to exercise it by putting that faith you received to work. You will realize through a careful and deep study of the scripture that, after you got born again, you are called into a higher responsibility. This is why the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:14; “ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”. To further buttress this point, Apostle Paul announced in Romans 1:17 that “the just shall live by faith”. This clearly shows that the responsibility of exercising your faith has been shifted to you. It is now you walking in faith, living in faith and standing in faith.  Faith has been made available in Christ Jesus but as a believer in Christ, it is your sole responsibility to rise up and exercise that faith. Remember, nothing moves until you move.

INSTRUCTION: Enforce the victory handed over to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for the gift of faith, I pray for the grace to always exercise the faoth given to me, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Nothing moves until you move.
