“In him was life; and the life was the light of men” – John 1:4
LIGHT FOR NOW: The appearance of light extinguishes darkness.
There are all kinds of light – sunlight, moonlight, candle light, etc. But the original source of light is Jesus, the light which is the light of men. This means that as a man, you have light in the person of Christ. So, when you are outside Christ, you are outside of light and automatically in darkness. Speaking in John 8:12, Jesus said: “I am the light of the world: He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. You can’t be in Christ and be in darkness; never! When you see people wallowing in darkness, direct them to Jesus, the light of the world. Just as light exposes every dangerous predator, so is Jesus protecting you on a daily basis. Just as light makes it possible to read and explore things, so is Jesus helping you to learn and grow as believers. He is the fulfillment of the Old Testament and the revelation of the New Covenant. Be in the consciousness of this insight.
There are several ways to walk in the light that Jesus gives. Just as the natural light illuminates the surroundings, even much more is Jesus illuminating the surroundings of all believers around the globe. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven”. We must let Jesus guide our attitudes, thoughts and actions by allowing His love and benefits of redemption to fill our hearts. Allow Him to consume your thoughts and mind with an unquenchable passion for Him. Meditation on the word will move you from the physical realm to the realm of God where direction can be given without reservation. The light from the word of God makes you to act like Christ. It puts you in charge of all situations and makes you control your environment. That is how to walk in the light. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Be a witness of Christ in your home, office and schools.
CONFESSION: Lord, help me be your light in a lost world, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Light is in levels but Christ is the major and highest level of light.
