“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” – Philippians 4:6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Worry does not solve problems; it only deprives you of your joy.
Today, many people live a life of worry and anxiety filled with frustration and concern. You should come to the knowledge that living that way is not the plan for you. God does not want you to be filled with anxiety and frustration. On the contrary, He wants you to have rest and peace of mind. You can find rest in Him knowing that no matter what is happening around you, God almighty has His hand on you. It is in the mind you access love, peace, rest, joy and focus. It is also in the mind you find hate, crises, unrest, sadness, distractions, worry and anxiety. It does not matter what is happening, but what really matters is how you react. Don’t break down in the face of crisis, break record.
In Mark 4:37-40, it said “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awoke Him, and said unto him, Master carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?” Peter and all other disciples were afraid and anxious about the storm but Jesus never bothered about it. His disciples broke down but He broke records by instructing the wind and the storm. You too can instruct that stormy situation and it will obey you. That situation is waiting for the voice of your command. Instead of being anxious, you must believe what God said about you in His word (Isaiah 43:1-7; Isaiah 49:15-16). The next time you are tempted to worry or be anxious about some things, remember that God is there with you. God invites you to come to Him but you can’t just go to him anyhow. He wants you to come to Him with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving. Stop lamenting in the place of thanksgiving. God cannot refuse a thankful heart. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stop complaining, start giving thanks.
CONFESSION: Father, your grace I receive to remain thankful all the days of my life, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The battles of life reside in the heart or in the mind.
