“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” – Psalm 138:2
LIGHT FOR NOW: The word of a person communicates the wisdom of that person; therefore, the word of God communicates His wisdom.
Prayers give us an opportunity to commune with God and make our requests known to him. God speaking in Jeremiah 33:3 says “Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not”. God gives us an open cheque to call upon Him in the place of prayer. However, not many people receive answers to their prayers. One of the reasons for unanswered prayers is that the prayer lacks the ingredient of God’s word. Prayer is not lamenting, neither is it crying your hearts out. Prayer is simply taking God’s word about your situation back to Him for a positive change. Many people spend time complaining, lamenting and crying in the place of prayer. An effective and impactful prayer must be word based.
Today’s text tells us that God magnifies His word above all His names. Your choice of words in the place of prayer matters a lot because it serves as a determinant factor to receiving an answer. What has God said about you? What declarations have you spoken over your life? God’s word about you is Yes and Amen. His words are supreme. It towers above every evil word spoken against you. There is a scripture that talks about you; find it and take it back to Him for a change in that situation. God does not answer your prayers because you opened your mouth and prayed but because your words are well aligned with His words. So your choice of words plays a vital role in receiving answers to your prayers. Glory!
