“And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” – Genesis 1:26-28.
LIGHT FOR NOW:The new creation is in the domain of authority.
From our investigation of Genesis 1:26b and 28b, it is thus clear that the use of animals there by Moses was figurative of actions, desires, dominions or kingdoms. So the new creation has authority over all of them. Little wonder, Jesus has this to say in Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. Jesus’ words here already indicate what we’ve been explaining so far in the B part of Genesis 1:26 and 28. He says “I give you power to thread upon serpents and scorpions…” Serpents and scorpions here just like the animals of Genesis 1:26 and 28 are not literal. Serpents and scorpions here is figurative Satan/the devil and his work through men in darkness. So we have power over serpents and scorpions, that is, we have power over Satan’s work; his work cannot hurt us.
That word “power” in Luke 10:19 is the Greek word “exousia” and means authority. In other words, Jesus is saying “I give you authority over serpents and scorpions (that is, over the works, actions or activities of the devil) and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. We are in authority, we have authority over the devil’s activities that functions through men. Our sphere of authority transcends the earth and transcends the natural. We are in the domain of authority; Jesus’ authority is our authority. This authority or dominion of Genesis 1:26-28 is the right hand of the Father. The right hand of the Father is our sphere of authority, which is why it transcends the earth (land, sea and air). So, what is it about the Father’s right hand? We will see it… Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION:You are in the domain of authority, think!
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the place of authority I occupy in Christ. I declare that I dominate and take charge from this place of authority, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer on earth controls a sphere of authority that transcends the earth.
