“I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus ” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Your right and privileges in Christ cannot be maximized when not known.
Knowledge is the greatest need of the believer upon being saved. Your faith will only work to the degree of the knowledge of Christ you have. To live in the robust of your rights and privileges in Christ, you must first of all know your rights and privileges in Christ. You cannot live in the realities of what you have not known. Your faith will work to the degree of how much you know of what belongs to you in Christ. Your faith cannot work beyond your understanding of your rights and privileges in Christ. Instead of looking for more faith, look for more knowledge. That said, it is time for us to now begin to travel through the pages of scriptures beginning from a historical analysis of the concept of the believer’s authority and bring to the fore the fact of the believer’s authority, and the questions intended to be answered in this study will begin to be answered.
To substantiate the proper understanding of the believer’s authority in Christ, we must be able to look at Christ as spoken of in the scriptures in this wise. This therefore, will lead us back to the Old Testament as the investigation gets detailed and this will bring the fact that the authority of the believer in Christ is not an afterthought of the father. And also this investigation will lead us to now see the correctness or incorrectness inherent in the idea or theology that “God created man (Adam) in his own image and likeness, and man had the life of God and God gave him authority and dominion in which he (Adam) sinned one day and lost that dominion or authority to Satan. God then had to send Jesus to come and die and get back that authority to man”. So, where is this text in the Old Testament where the historical analysis of the believers’ authority in Christ will be explored? The text is Genesis 1:26-28.
INSTRUCTION: Knowledge is key, go for it.
PRAYER: The eyes of my understanding are enlightened, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Until what is to be known by the knower is known by the knower, then what is to be known by the knower does not profit the knower.
