“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him” John 1:18
LIGHT FOR NOW: You don’t arrive in Jesus and keep looking for God, you arrive in Jesus and you arrive in God.
It’s established from our previous studies that it is in Jesus that we explain God. In other words, the explanation of God is found in Christ. Outside Christ, a man cannot know God. Remember the two words in the above text (John 1:18):
- Bosom; which means to see someone through another.
- Declared; “exegeomai” in the Greek, which is a term used to teach or to explain.
In other words, the teaching about God is found in Christ. The explanation of God is found in Christ. The study of God is found in Christ. So, the study of God is the study of Christ. “The only begotten son; which is in the bosom of the father has declared him”. That means, to know the Father, listen to the son. In John 14 which we are going to pay close attention to, Jesus explains similar truth to the disciples. It reads “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” (John 14:6-10). Notice the statements;
- “No man cometh unto the Father but by me” (verse 6)
- “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father”.
Now, observe the word “cometh” in verse 6, that word being translated implies to approach, to know, to see. In other words:
- No man approaches God outside Jesus
- No man knows God outside Jesus
- No man sees God outside Jesus.
So, can you use science and approach God? The answer is no. To have a perfect view of God, the approach is not science; the approach is Jesus because the revelation of God is not encapsulated in science but in Jesus. You can’t approach God by psychology, not even philosophy because they don’t have what it takes to unveil God. God in Christ is demystified; God outside Christ is still a mystery. The knowledge of Christ will be equivalent to the knowledge of God.
INSTRUCTION:Go for accurate knowledge.
PRAYER: I declare that the desire for revelation knowledge is stirred up in me like never before, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: The perfect view of the perfect God is only perfectly viewed in Christ.
