PLACE PREMIUM VALUE ON KNOWLEDGE (7)

“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:6

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer ought to find out his identity in the word and walk in that reality. God’s word is the believers’ mirror.

The issue of knowledge can not be over-emphasized as far as the Christian walk is concerned. From the following couple of scriptures in epistles: Ephesians 1:16-19; Ephesians 3:14-19, Philippians 1:9-11; Colossians 1:9-11 and Philemon 1:4-6, it is clear that knowledge is a must as far as the Christian faith is concerned because the Christian faith itself is a knowledge based faith. Thus, the greatest need of every believer is revelation knowledge. Coming to the realization of what avails to you in Christ makes the Christian walk a victorious adventure. The believer must come to the realization of what belongs to him in Christ. In Christ Jesus, where we are, we have all things given to us freely. That’s why Paul has this to say in Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely given us all things?”

That word “spared not” was translated from a Greek word that means “not to hold unto”. That is, “He that did not hold unto his own son, but delivered him up for us all”. Also, we are complete in Christ Jesus. Paul in Colossians 2:10 has this to say, it reads “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”. This is who you are; you are complete in Christ. That is why our study of God’s word should be focused on finding out who we are in Christ; what we have in Christ and what Christ can do through us. The word of God reveals that to us. James likened the word of God to a mirror in James 1:22-25 which reads “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed”. The word “glass” here was translated from a Greek word that means mirror. So, the word of God is our mirror. The believer needs to simply find out his identity and walk in that reality. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Find out your identity in the word.

CONFESSION: I declare that I walk in the reality of what belong to me in Christ, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: The word of God is your mirror.
