“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin…” – Isaiah 53:10

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are one with Christ.

We mustn’t be ignorant of the importance of His resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 says, “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21-22). At Jesus’ death, He didn’t take the place of “believers,” but that of sinners. He came as man’s substitute. And beyond the fact that believers are saved from the punishment of sin, they’ve been given the life and nature of God. Christ’s death settled the charges against us, but it didn’t reconcile us to the Father! It didn’t bring us into relationship with Him; it didn’t give us eternal life. But His resurrection did! Romans 10:9-10 says, anyone who confesses the Lordship of Jesus, and believes that God raised Him from the dead shall be saved. So it was our individual belief in His resurrection that “activated” our salvation and brought us into oneness with God. At salvation, we were awakened to the Fatherhood of God, recreated in our Spirit and brought into fellowship with the Father. What a life! 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord”.  Now, Jesus Christ isn’t only the Lord of our lives, but also One in whom we’ve found rich, deep and lasting fellowship: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). Apostle Paul tells us in Colossians 1:13, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”. This was what God always wanted with man: fellowship! And in Christ’s resurrection, this has become a reality. We’re now God’s dwelling places, made possible, not by His death, but by His resurrection. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Be conscious of your realities in Christ.

PRAYER: I affirm that because I am found in Christ, I have become one in whom and through whom Christ is put on display. Amen!!

QUOTE: Forgiveness of sins is preached and not prayed.
