“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” – Revelation 1:17-18
LIGHT FOR NOW: In Christ, we have been set free.
In His resurrection, He has taken us from slavery to the throne; we were defeated, conquered, downtrodden and held in bondage, but now, in Christ we are set free, and have become the bondage-breakers for the rest of the human race. Hallelujah! Christ was made to be sin who knew no sin, so that anyone that believes in Him should be MADE righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). Unfortunately, many people in the church have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God; they go about trying to establish their own righteousness which is founded on rules and regulations. But the righteousness of God does not come by applying principles, it isn’t established by our own code of conducts, neither does it come in steps. It only comes once by believing the gospel – the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:2-4). Hence, at salvation, every believer has a permanent status in God the Father having been declared blameless. Colossians 1:21 -22 affirms this: “And you that were sometimes alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy an unblameable and unreproveable in his sight”. Accessing God’s presence is neither by our way nor our deeds; not our efforts but by faith in the finished work of Christ. And in Christ, we reign as masters and kings “For if, through the transgression of one individual, death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God’s overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in life through the one individual, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17).In Christ’s righteousness which has become ours, we have become masters and conquerors. In Him we’ve been taken from slavery to the throne; we’ve been set free, and in His name, we’ve become bondage – breakers for the rest of the human race – Glory to God!
INSTRUCTION: Believe the gospel.
PRAYER: I affirm that in Christ, I’ve been made the righteousness of God; hence, nothing can molest or frighten me in this world, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: in Christ, we have been made masters and kings.
