“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.” – Isaiah 60:1-5

LIGHT FOR NOW: Reading the scriptures with a pre-conceived notion in mind is a big hindrance to interpreting the authors’ mind and intent.

In demystifying the opinion or pre-conceived notion deduced by many people from Deuteronomy 22:5 that which pertaineth unto a woman will be a skirt and that which pertaineth unto a man will be a trouser, we saw in the context of Deuteronomy that skirt is a man’s cloth (Deuteronomy 22:30). Hence, we deduced that in the Old Testament, men were wearing skirt. Ruth 3:8-9 equally supported this. The pre-conceived notion that trouser is not to be worn by ladies and skirts are not to be worn by men because it is sin or abomination is a clear display of ignorance.

In 1Samuel 15:27, you will see that Samuel who was a prophet wore skirt; “And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent”. Notice, the person here laid hold on the skirt of Samuel’s mantle. In 1Samuel 24:5, you will see that Saul’s cloth was a skirt; it reads “And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt”. Psalm 133:2 is an evident that men wore skirt, it reads “It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments”. So, Aaron who was a priest here was wearing skirt. Therefore, that faulty deduction surrounding Deuteronomy 22:5 is invalid. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Be diligent in the place of study.

PRAYER: I grow in revelation knowledge now more than ever, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Don’t read your intent into the bible, interpret the authors’ intent.
