“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.” – Isaiah 60:1-5

LIGHT FOR NOW: Read the bible without a pre-conceived notion or mindset so that you will not be reading your own intent into the bible and deviating from the authors’ intent.

Moses said that which pertaineth to a man and that which pertaineth to a woman without any specific classification as to whether skirt or trouser. Which means, Moses’ audience were not thinking of skirt and trouser when this law was given. But this text of scripture has become a big problem in the church world today. They are people and churches that have taught from this scripture that a woman wearing trouser has sinned; that she is an abomination.

In fact, some churches don’t even allow women to put on trousers, they can’t be allowed in because in their minds, trouser is a sin for ladies and by wearing trouser, they have nullified their salvation. That is the greatest height of ignorance and illiteracy birthed by an inability to understand interpretation rules and how to apply it in bible reading. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Read scriptures in context.

PRAYER: I receive understanding, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Context is key in bible reading and interpretation.
