“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him” – Colossians 2:6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Christ in you is the hope of glory.
In Colossians 1:27 that says, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”, the Spirit through Apostle Paul reveals a very important truth about the believer. He says, “Christ in you the hope of glory”. Hallelujah! To have the precise and accurate knowledge and live with the consciousness that Christ lives in you, is one of the greatest thing that could happen to you as a believer. In fact, being rooted in this consciousness is the assurance for a life of unending victories. Paul again in Romans 8:10 says, “And if Christ be in you, though your body be dead because of sin, the Spirit gives life, because of righteousness”. He is saying that Christ in you is your wholeness, deliverance and preservation. One of the reasons most believers aren’t living to their full potentials in Christ is because of ignorance of God’s word. Not having and walking in the precise and accurate knowledge of the word of God will short-circuit the manifestation of the supernatural in your life. This is because you cannot effectively exercise your dominion as a believer without the knowledge of God’s word. Believers who keep experiencing the supernatural, notwithstanding prevailing circumstances, do so by knowledge. The Bible tells us in Acts 9:33-34 about Peter in the house of Aeneas who had been sick of palsy for eight years. Even after believing the Gospel, he was still paralyzed; and Peter looking at his incapacitated state said, “Aeneas, Christ makes you well; get up!” And he was healed even without Peter praying for him to be healed! Peter understood the effect of the believer’s placement in Christ; he understood that one in whom Christ dwells shouldn’t be paralyzed.
It is a fact that through Jesus’ sacrificial and vicarious death, the believer has been brought into a place of perpetual liberty, he sits in Christ far above the crippling limitations of this world; but why are some believers still oppressed and afflicted? The truth is that there is a direct correlation between what you know and the quality of life you live; what you know plays a vital role in determining how your life plays out. You will never accomplish more as a believer, than your knowledge will allow; hence, Apostle Peter would say, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2). Actually, the only thing standing between some believers and their ever-winning adventure in Christ is their ignorance of God’s word, not sin or the devil. Accurate, precise and comprehensive knowledge of the word of God (Greek: epignosis) is what will build your faith and catapult you to a higher place of operations as a believer. It will help you to comprehend and apprehend all that’s available to you in Christ. Halleluiah!
