“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to the saints: to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of his mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” – Colossians 1:26-27
LIGHT FOR NOW: We are of the household of God.
John chapter 14 verse 2 says, “in my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”. Many believers are confused about this verse of the scripture; they ignorantly say that Jesus spoke of going to build big mansions. The word “mansion” isn’t buildings or cities or estates, but the Greek word “mone” means a place of being, where you are, your location, your dwelling. “House” in the above text is the Greek word “oikia” and it implies a family or household. “Mansion” implies a place where Jesus occupies in order to continue his activities. Here, Jesus was pointing to an event in His resurrection; He was saying, at my resurrection, there are many places where I will stay to continue my activities.
Furthermore, the word “prepare” is the Greek word “enthomazo”, it refers to making room inside the same building; to create space. Jesus Himself is the Father’s house; hence, when He said, “I go to prepare a place for you”, it meant a place in Himself. So we are of the household of God because God, by His spirit and in His spirit, is found in us “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the Saints, and of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:18-19).That’s the meaning of “another comforter” (Greek: “allosparakletos”) in John 14:16. That is why it is very important that we walk in the awareness that Christ dwells in us. If we can only accept that Christ has taken up His residence in us, it will change our lives and cause us to live daily supernaturally. The fullness of the God-head, the totality of deity dwells in Christ and we are complete in Him (Colossians 2:9-10). With this awareness, your boldness to confront situation becomes stronger; having no fear of the future. Having the Christ in you awareness makes you unbeatable and invincible, notwithstanding what life throws at you. We are in union with Christ, with the Father; we were raised with Him at salvation, and we are seated with Him on the right hand of authority. Seated above implies to reign. As He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17); this is present tense, not an “after rapture” status. Glory!
