“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.” – Isaiah 60:1-5

LIGHT FOR NOW: The person of Jesus is God’s bread for man, and not bread from the bakery, nor food from the kitchen.

The words of Jesus in verse 26 and 27 of John 6 “Jesus answered them and said, verily, verily, I say unto you, ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the father sealed”. Observe verse 31 closely “Our fathers did eat manner in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat”. They had just eaten literal bread but observe that Jesus tried to take their attention away from the literal. His words were very clear “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life”. The implication of this is that there is a food that perishes while there is another “food” that endures to everlasting life. This latter food is not anything literal.

They, in verse 31 rather referred him to Moses’ manna which again was physical food. Observe Jesus’ response to them “Then Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world” (John 6:32-33). So, Jesus here mentions bread in relation to life, this bread is not literal. Then in verse 34 and 35, Jesus says something crucial, “Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus saith unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never taste”. Jesus here points to himself as that bread; he is that bread we have been talking about so far. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Be diligent in the place of study.

PRAYER: I receive revelation knowledge, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: The bread of God is a person, and not physical food.
