BE COMPELLED BY THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL

‘’To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation’’

  2 Corinthians 5:19.

LIGHT FOR NOW: The gospel is not a fairy-tale. It is real.

Most believers do not really know what the gospel of Jesus Christ is; and if a believer doesn’t understand what the gospel is, he wouldn’t be motivated to do something about it and with it. Knowing the gospel, doing something about it and with it constitutes the body of the messages in our churches. This is because, when we are constantly reminded of what the gospel is, it gets us motivated to do something about it and with it. ‘’Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe’’ (Philippians  3:1).  ‘’Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things though ye know them, and be established in the present truth’’ (2Peter 1:12).  The gospel is not a fairytale; it is real. The gospel is the end of the struggle for man; it is a person and depending wholly on him is the only way we take on His identity. We should be compelled by the fact that Jesus did not just die for us, He died as us; and today God looks at us, as the glory that followed that sacrificial death. ‘’But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death, for every man. For it became him, for whom all things, and by whom we are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory…’’ (Hebrews 2:9-10). Our identity today is in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:15 says, ‘’And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again’’, implying that in these last days, there’s only one thing that matters! Living for the Lord; living for His glory; living a life of purpose. Therefore, we should be compelled by the truth of the gospel; the Father’s passion ought to be your passion and purpose for living. The purpose of the Father is the salvation of the whole world – that is the reason, He sent Jesus; and your purpose in life is connected to this. No matter what you do in life, if you are not reaching the lost and winning souls, you are living an empty life. God is unwilling that any should perish but that all men should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God seeks to beautify the lives around you through the gospel. So you should be compelled by the facts of the gospel and endeavour to reach many with this good news. It doesn’t matter how successful and effective you might be in other areas of your life, you must seek to excel in soul winning. A life well lived is one that achieves this.

INSTRUCTION: seek to excel in soul winning.

PRAYER: I receive utterance to preach the gospel, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: A life well lived is a life that wins souls.
