“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” – Mark 16:15-18
LIGHT FOR NOW:Exercising your authority is done by speaking.
We have discovered that authority is given because of responsibility. Also, we established previously that words are symbols of authority. The believer exercises his authority by speaking; by words. Truth, it is not good for you as a believer to just know you have authority and stop there, it is vital you equally understand how to use it. You use or exercise your authority by speaking; by the things you say; the words that comes out of your mouth. What are you saying with your mouth? Are you declaring it is finished or, the devil has won, or I’m very sick or I’m not sure I might live, or I don’t know how my future will end, andI’m scared of what might happen to me? If that’s what you are declaring, then you are not making use of your authority. You are sick right now and with all the medications, it seems like nothing is working, that’s not the time to quake, shake and begin to voice your feelings, no! That’s the time to give voice to God’s word (God’s word says you are healed; He took your infirmities; by His stripes you are healed; so you give voice to that); and when you give voice to that, you are exercising your authority. You don’t subject God’s word to your feelings; you subject your feelings to God’s word. God’s authority is inscribed in the written word; so if you don’t know the written word; you don’t know your realities in Christ, and what will you say when encountered with life situation. Each time the devil tempted Jesus, Jesus replied, “it is written”, he did not say “Satan leave me alone… you don’t know I am the son of God”. The devil is not afraid of your title, what terrifies him is the knowledge of who you are in Christ.
Authority is exercised in words; you cannot afford not to say something. Jesus in Matthew 17 said “if you shall say to this mountain…” He did not say “talk about the mountain”, but “talk/say to the mountain”. Stop analysing the sickness, stop talking about the pain and start talking to the pain. Talking to the pain means issuing commands and instructions because you are in authority. It’s time you talked to the problem, and stopped talking about the problem. You have authority to change and rearrange things in your life. You are in dominion, you are in authority, don’t accept defeat. It’s time you started giving voice to God’s word in your words and see your life walk in the victory you have in Christ. Glory!!!
INSTRUCTION:Be seasoned with God’s word
PRAYER:I am in Christ and therefore I declare that I walk in the victory He has provided, I reign in life; I reign over sickness and death; my needs are always supplied by the power of God, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: When you give voice to God’s word in your words, you are exercising faith in God’s word.
