SIN AND THE BELIEVERS’ RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD (4)

My little children, these things write I unto you that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world – 1John 2:1-2

LIGHT FOR NOW: Ignorance is the reason many think that God uses sickness, poverty, accidents or any misfortune to teach the believer a lesson.

Now we have established clearly from John’s word in the above text that sin does not and cannot break the relationship or union or fellowship that the believer has with the Father. Secondly, we’ve also established that God does not take away His Spirit because of a believer’s misdeed; because to do that will mean that believer ceases to be a believer because a man cannot be born again but by the Spirit. Now if the two things above do not happen because of any believers’ misdeed, let’s see another assumption or idea many have as touching sinful misconduct and the believer before we begin to bring certain things to the spotlight. Many assume or have the idea or the misconception that God punishes the believer when he sins. That is, God for instance uses things like sickness, poverty, accidents and many other misfortunes to punish a believer when he sins. This assumption is an error in itself and moreover a misconception on the character of God. If God for instance uses sickness to teach the believer a lesson, then we can say that God causes people to be sick or that He is responsible for sickness. If this is so, God then shouldn’t have the moral right to instruct us His children to heal the sick, as He cannot be responsible for something He is instructing us to heal. There is no instance in the four gospels where Jesus who is the revelation of God’s character made somebody sick and then heals the person later. God therefore, will not make a believer sick as a means of teaching that believer a lesson and then heal him later. God does not cause sickness, He only heals. God can’t be the one causing sickness and healing at the same time. God is not dual in His character. If He is the healer, then He is not responsible for sicknesses. God can’t use Satan’s instrument to teach us lessons. So if you had that idea that God punishes with sickness, diseases, accidents, earthquakes or any other misfortune, please clear that from your mind because God is not behind such. You should have in mind that God is good all the time. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION:Place premium on God’s word above hearsays.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for your goodness and mercy over my life, family, business, career, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: God does not use Satan’s tool to teach his children lessons.
