“I thank my God, making mention of thee in my prayers, hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints; that the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: The inspiration of the bible is a message.
We’ve said that no book is inspired of God on its own. A book, a CD or a message is only inspired to the degree where it agrees with the Holy Bible. In other words, the word of God must be the final authority where bible teaching is concerned. We don’t accept what you are saying or teaching because of who you are; that is, because of your title; rather, we accept what you are saying or teaching because of where it derives its authority from. If what you are saying or teaching doesn’t derive its authority from the written word with proper bible interpretation as the basic, then what you are saying is not valid. So, I accept a book or a CD or a teaching to the degree of which it agrees with the bible. In the interpretation of the bible is a message, and that message is the person of Jesus. Jesus has this to say in John 5:39-40 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life”. So, the testimony of the scriptures is a person. That is why the bible is the word of God because it testifies of a Person. The Person of Jesus makes the bible the word of God. Remove Jesus from the bible and it is no more the word of God. So, when you hear “word of God”, don’t just think of a person and also don’t always think of a book; rather, what you should ask when you hear “word of God” is the word of God in which context; as a person or as a book or as a person in a book? For clarity, Jesus is God’s word and thoughts; the bible expresses God’s word and thoughts in a vocabulary. So, the word of God is a person, and the word of God is also a book; but the book on its own is not the word of God; rather, it is the person (Jesus) in the book that makes the book to be called the word of God. The bible is the word of God not because of the book itself, but because of the inspiration behind the book, that inspiration is the person of Jesus.

QUOTE: The bible is the word of God not because of the book itself, but because of the inspiration being the book.
