“Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” – Ephesians 1:15-19
LIGHT FOR NOW: Ignorance of your realities will make you live less of it.
In our studies on identification, we established in our previous studies that so many folks in the church world today live below their realities in Christ. Identity crisis is what many of them are suffering from; they have not known who they are in Christ. One important rule in life is, when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. How can you maximize your realities if you don’t know your realities in the first place? How can you know your realities if you don’t look at Christ? How can you look at Christ if you don’t look at the written word within which Christ is revealed and the believer unveiled in Him? Another question is, why would ignorance not dwell in the life of a believer if he/she doesn’t present himself or herself to be taught the knowledge of Christ in its precision and accuracy? Reading the bible alone or on your own is good, but reading the bible alone is not enough. There is need to be taught, not just taught but taught the right knowledge of Christ. Your ignorance is disadvantageous to you and advantageous to Satan.
That is why you cannot afford to be ignorant. Stop saying knowledge is expensive. If knowledge is expensive, then try ignorance. No matter how expensive knowledge could be, go for it; but no matter how cheap ignorance could be, don’t settle for it. You are as effective in your Christian walk as you are effective in the knowledge of God’s word. And don’t lose sight of the fact that the revelation of your identity in Christ is tied to the knowledge of God’s word. God’s word to us is God’s bond to us. You cannot start by the word (the new birth) and aim to know yourself outside the word; any attempt to do that will land you in identity crisis. Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION: Place premium on knowledge.
PRAYER: Father, I declare that the zeal, desire and passion to know you more rises in me like never before, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: If you are deficient of God’s word, you can’t be efficient in your Christian walk.
