“For he had made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” – 2Corinthians 5:21.
LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is your righteousness.
Righteousness is the believers’ reality in Christ; it is what he has in Christ and who he is in Christ. In the above text, Paul lets us see that it is in Christ that a man is made righteous. “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption” (1Corinthians 1:30). So, Jesus is our righteousness; our righteousness is from him and he lives in us.
Righteousness is the reality of every believer in Christ; it is who Christ is to the believer and who the believer is in Christ. If righteousness is who the believer is in Christ, we can deduce that righteousness is the believers’ nature, it is the very core and fabric of a believer; righteousness is the nature of God at work in the believer. This means that the believer in Christ has a nature; he is righteous. This is not because of what the believer did; it is who the believer is by nature because of what Jesus did. It is a gift; you don’t work for righteousness, if there is anybody who worked for righteousness, it is Christ Jesus. You are the recipient of what Jesus worked for; it is the giver who is making this available to the recipient that worked for it. We did not receive that nature in Christ because one worked for it; we received that nature in Christ because Jesus Christ worked for it and made it available for all who believe in him. No wonder Paul in the book of Romans 10:10 made it clear by saying “for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. So, a man believes Christ in his heart and confesses Christ with his mouth and he is automatically made righteous. Your righteousness is not your doing, your righteousness is Jesus’ doing has made out of you. That is why before God, morality at its highest form is faith in Christ. Righteousness is your nature, righteousness is your state, it is your DNA; it is the very fabric of your nature. Hallelujah!!!
INSTRUCTION: Your realities in Christ supersede experiences of men; think!
PRAYER: Thank Lord for your nature at work in me; I am who you say I am and what the word says I am, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Morality at its highest form before God is faith in Christ.
