“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” – Ephesians 1:16-18
LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Your realities must be known if it must be maximized.
The realities of the believer are in the word and will be unveiled to the believer by his acquaintance to the word. This is why when you don’t know your realities, you suffer from identity crisis. In essence, what will be the cure for identity crisis is knowledge. The believer is in Christ, and if he must know who he is, he will know who he is in Christ; if he must know who God is, he will know who God is in Christ because the revelation of God is encapsulated in the person of Christ.
The revelation of Christ contained in scriptures unveils the believer, demystifies God and exposes the devil. Thus, the knowledge of Christ that a man has is equivalent to the knowledge of himself that he has. The need for knowledge in a believer cannot be overemphasized.
Paul’s letter to the Philippian church lays more credence to this: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment” (Philippians 1:9). In his letter to the Philippian church, it is clear that knowledge is emphasised again.
In Paul’s letter to the Colossians’ church, he alludes to the same fact; “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9-10). Your knowledge life is so vital because it will influence every part of your life as a believer; your prayer life, your relationship with your father and the zeal for getting men saved. You are as effective as the knowledge of Christ you have in your Christian life.
INSTRUCTION: You cannot outgrow knowledge, always submit to learning.
PRAYER: Lord, I am committed to knowing your word and acting upon it, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: You are as effective as the knowledge of Christ you have in your Christian life.
