That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved – Romans 10:9

LIGHT FOR NOW: The gospel is not in the death of Christ but in His resurrection.

The Gospel forms the basis of our lives. There is no better way of knowing ourselves than in Christ. In order to know Christ, there is need to know the gospel. All of God’s revelation has been communicated to us through the written word. God is no longer a mystery but has been revealed through Christ. The resurrection of Christ from the dead is what makes his death different from others. After the resurrection of Christ, there is now no difference between Him and those who believe in Him. We are now of the same stock. Jesus Himself testifies to this truth in John chapter 20 verses 16 and 17. They read, “Jesus said unto her, Mary. She turned herself and said unto him Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus said unto her, touch me not; for I am not yet ascend to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God”. The gospel is what has made life and light available. John chapter 1 verses 4 and 5 say, “in him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not”.

When men understand the gospel, they become unstoppable. Without resurrection, there can be no forgiveness of sins. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 from verse 14- 17 says, “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is Christ not raised: And Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins”.

INSTRUCTION: Stay with the Gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive all that the gospel has wrought for me, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: The gospel is what makes life and light available.
