‘And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the Wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life’. – John 3:14-15
LIGHT FOR NOW: We are eternally saved.
The lifting up of the serpent at the Wilderness speaks of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. By Christ resurrection, all believers can enjoy victory. Apostle John said in this respect ‘For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith’ (1 John 5:4). Believers are overcomers by virtue of their faith. Faith in what? Some have trusted the governmental authorities. Some put their faith in their material wealth. Others trust their gods and idols. In recent times, some have built confidence in science and technology based on the tremendous leverages on life. All these seeming fortifications are not worthy of trust. We read in 1 John5:5, and it says, ‘Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? Irrespective of one’s material possession or political power, economic strength and social status, only those who believe that Christ is the Son of God are those that are saved.
You cannot benefit from what you do not believe. No matter how well known you are, if you do not know Christ, you are not saved. If you do not acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ, you are dead. If your life is not centered on Christ, you are inexistent! Every wise person should trust in Christ! Every thinking man should be thankful to Jesus Christ. It is not heard of, in any other faith, that God died for His creature (man), and upon His resurrection, He made them to be Himself – Only Christ did this!
Man was dead in sin, but Christ made him alive, brought him to God and they are seated together in heavenly places. ‘And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, … But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus’ (Ephesians 2: 1-6). Despite our sinfulness, God in His mercy through Christ brought us to Himself and showed us the exceeding riches of His Grace. He did it all by Himself. God freely saved us. What a love! And we are saved through faith in Christ. Through Christ resurrection, believers have the boldness and confidence to approach God (Ephesians 3:12). We are eternally saved. No one loves like Christ. Appreciate Him.
INSTRUCTION: Constantly meditate on the Love of God. Appreciate Christ.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for making me a product of your resurrection, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: You cannot benefit from what you do not believe.
