“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began” – Romans 16:25
LIGHT FOR NOW: No one can have a revelation about Jesus Christ without being born of the Spirit.
Throughout the earthly ministry of Jesus, His disciples did not really have a revelation of who Christ was. Jesus was still a mystery to the Jews. This is why they could not operate in the New Testament light that Jesus brought. They couldn’t even believe that Jesus had resurrected. They needed a revelation of the operations of Christ. Throughout the Four Gospels, there was no mention that Jesus would become a substitute for man. The disciples only knew Him as the Son of God but not as the One who would be substituted to receive the sins of man. To the disciples, Jesus died the death of a good man; a martyr but not as a substitute for the sins of man. To fully understand Jesus, they needed to be born of the Spirit. No one can have a revelation about Jesus Christ without being born of the Spirit. Many believers lack the revelation of Jesus and this is why they do not have a Son-Father relationship with God.
It is based on this knowledge-gap that all of Pauline’s prayers for the church is for them to know and come into understanding of the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Truly, this was Paul’s earnest desire! Christ has to be revealed for the believer to be able to access what has been made available to him. The revelation is about Christ in you (Colossians 1:27). Without an understanding of the mystery of Christ in you; you will not be able to enforce the priesthood of Jesus and appropriate it accordingly. The Scriptures reveal the person of Christ (John 5:39). The mystery of Christ in you is about God reproducing Himself in the New Creation. When you receive Jesus, you are no longer an ordinary man. You house the deity of God. You become the tabernacle of God; the mobile headquarters of divinity. God lives and walks on the earth through you. Your have become His Ambassador or Representative. God is in your inside doing what only Him can do. This is the mystery of God in you; God becoming a man and man becoming God! It is called the New Creation. Among all of God’s wonderous works, the New creation is the greatest!
