“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”. – 1 Peter 1:18-19
LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus Christ’s blood is the custodian of our victory as believers.
The blood of Jesus Christ is the substance for our redemption. Our text for today confirms this truth. The blood of Christ is the surety for our salvation. In the physical realm, life is in the blood. Whenever blood is spilled, life is gone. Jesus presented His blood willingly in order to bring life and freedom to man. The blood of Jesus is so powerful and potent that nothing on earth; be it diseases, poverty, lack, not even Satan can stand it. The blood is so powerful that at the drop, the whole earth shook and was in darkness. The Cross is the symbol of Satan’s total defeat. Satan has been completely conquered through the blood of Christ. The revelation you have about the finished work of Christ on the Cross is your victory over Satan and his works. Jesus Christ’s blood is the custodian of our victory as believers.
The blood of Christ speaks better things. Hebrews 12 verse 24 says, “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”. The blood of Christ constantly speaks life, protection, favor, blessings and victory for believers in Christ Jesus. This is what you enjoy when you have an understanding of the priesthood of Jesus. The blood of Christ brings eternal redemption to man. Colossians 1:14 says, “in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins”.
it is extremely important to know that the blood of Jesus is not the liquid content. No, Jesus did not present any liquid substance to the Father. The Bible records that Jesus presented Himself. Hebrews 9:26 says, “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself”. Also, Hebrews 1:3 records, “who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on High”. This goes to prove that the blood is not the liquid content but the person of Christ.
INSTRUCTION: Never take the sacrifice of Christ for granted.
Prayer: Lord, I appropriate all that your blood has wrought for me, in Jesus Name! Amen!!
QUOTE: The blood is not a liquid but the person of Christ.
