VICTORY IN CHRIST JESUS

But thanks be unto God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 15:57

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are not trying to overcome, you have already overcome.

What makes you a victor in life is because you are in Christ Jesus, the Son of the Living God having been united with him in love; in his death, burial and resurrection. You must note that your union with Christ is an inseparable one (Romans 8:35). It is this inseparable union of love with Christ that makes the believer in Christ Jesus maintain his victory over life’s circumstances. Apostle Paul in Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord: that in all these things we are more than conquerors”. Everything listed in the above passage has been conquered by you as a believer in Christ. To be more than a conqueror means that you didn’t have to go to battle. Someone else fought for you and handed over the victory he won to you. Yes! Christ fought on your behalf and won and delivered the victory into your hands. Hallelujah!!!

You are not trying to overcome but you have already overcome. You are born of God and whatsoever is born of God has overcome the world. You have already overcome the storms and circumstances of life, in Christ Jesus. If you are born of the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus, then you have already overcome whatever life throws at you. You are more than a conqueror. Your victory is in Christ Jesus.

INSTRUCTION: Enforce the victory handed over to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, I enforce my victory over life circumstances, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Jesus is the Love of God expressed towards man.

THE BASIS OF SALVATION

of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow    –   1 Peter 1:10-11

LIGHT FOR NOW: Scriptures remain the source of our faith.

Understanding salvation is the beginning of happiness, joy and peace. Nobody got saved without being preached to from the scriptures. Scriptures remain the source of our faith. The gospel of Christ must contain the facts or outlines of the scriptures. Once the facts are absent, then the message is not of God but an excellency of speech. The Apostles preached the facts that were seen in the scriptures. This means that the Epistles were written in the light of these facts. The suffering of Christ is His death and burial, and the glory is that we have been made righteous as He came out of the grave. A believer is a product of God’s glory and there is no shame in glory. Jesus approved the messages of the prophets (2Peter 1:20-21). John 5:39-40 says, “search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life”.

Jesus was simply saying that the subject matter of the scriptures is His person. Both Jesus and the Apostles preached from the scriptures. To know God, you must know Christ. John 1:18 says, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him”. Do not be distracted by situations and what people say, but stay focused on Christ. The gospel is not about miracles, nor about testimonies of needs being met but the gospel is a message with specific facts. All that we ever need is in Christ, and all that God had promised us is in Him.

INSTRUCTION: Focus on the gospel that saves.

PRAYER: Lord, I believe in the gospel that saves, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: The subject matter of the scriptures is a person.

FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son” –

1 John 5:10-11

LIGHT FOR NOW: Faith in resurrection and faith in the gospel equals salvation.

Faith in Christ and the gospel is faith in the resurrection and this is the only thing that saves. His resurrection is our justification. Romans 4:25 says, “who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification”. The resurrection of Christ is not only for our justification but it also makes life available. All of that equals salvation. Romans 5:17 says, “For if by one man’s offence, death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”. Your reigning is a function of the righteousness you receive. Romans 10:6-9 says, “But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) or, who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead). But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”.

Faith in resurrection and faith in the gospel equals salvation. To have power over sin is to have power over circumstances. When you are not rooted in the gospel, you get tossed about by every wind of doctrine. Until you know salvation, you know no joy. Salvation is the cure for sorrows of life. The more you ignore the message of salvation, the more you inflict yourself with the sorrows of life. Receiving Christ is beyond confession of sin but it has more to do with experimental knowledge. Christ is the wisdom and power of God. God is wisdomless and powerless outside Christ. The power of God is not felt by rolling on the ground but when the message of the cross is being preached.

INSTRUCTION: Have faith in God.

PRAYER: Father, I receive all that Christ has paid for, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Until you know salvation, you will know no joy.

THERE IS POWER IN YOUR WORDS

Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” – Hebrews 11:3

LIGHT FOR NOW: We are to speak the Word, God brings it into fulfillment.

Through faith, we understand that everything came into being by the Word of God. To understand this is to have the express knowledge of the realm from which you operate. The World was framed by words (John 1:1). Everything that was made was made by words (Genesis 1:26). Every action taken is an expression of the word. Words are the media of expression of what is conceived in the heart. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. And the word is in your mouth. In jurisprudence, words are used to pass judgment.  Recall that, after creation, God did not give out names to animals and vegetations. Rather, He empowered Adam to do so and whatever name Adam called is what they answer till today (Genesis 2:19). Our faith can only be professed through words (Genesis 3:15). Words have a creative force.

Man would not embrace the faith if they were not spoken by Christ Himself and the prophets. We only know because knowledge was declared and communicated to us through the use of words (1John 5:20). We are products of the Word. We are born again by the Word of God (1Peter 1:23). The Word of God is the Word of everlasting life. We believe that we are the righteousness of God because it was spoken and written down for our edification.

INSTRUCTION: Speak the word. It is in your mouth.

PRAYER: Father, help me speak positive words into my life, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: Words have creative force.

THE ASSURANCE OF OUR FAITH

Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead – Acts 17:31

LIGHT FOR NOW: The assurance of our faith is in the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

The assurance of our Christian faith is the resurrection from the dead by Jesus Christ, through the power of the Spirit of God. It is the resurrection of Christ from the dead that gave birth to the church, the Christian faith. And it is by the same resurrection power that we all have the boldness to profess our faith in God. If Christ had not risen from the dead, our faith would have been in vain. That is why 1 Corinthians 15:15-17 says, “Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are yet in your sins”. The assurance of the forgiveness of sins is a product of the resurrection of Christ from the dead. For if Christ is not risen, “Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished…. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:18-20).

Also, Romans 7:4 says, “Wherefore, my brethren, ye are also become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruits unto God”. Therefore, beloved, nothing is permitted to remain dead in and around your life. The resurrection of Christ from the dead has brought about life in every aspect of your life. This is the assurance of your Christian faith.

INSTRUCTION: Assure your hearts in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for resurrection power of Christ which is the assurance of my faith, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: You are a product of resurrection.

EXERCISING YOUR FAITH (4)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”   –      Romans 1:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Words are the compass of your life.

You can exercise your faith in the words that you speak.  This is because through your words, you can create or bring to manifestation, the spiritual blessings of God which God has already made available for you to access in Christ Jesus. It is a truth that the things you say today will largely form a part of what you will see tomorrow. You must note that the words that you speak carry spiritual force and they can create. Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life”. His words would always give meaning and life to men and situations. This is why you must always speak the things you want to see in life, not what you have already seen. Remember in Genesis 1:1-2 when at creation, the earth was without form and void, God called forth what He wanted to see and they showed up. Confessing what the word of God says concerning you and the situation you are in does not mean you are lying or denying facts or reality. It is because you believe in the truth of God’s word than in the lying facts that Satan is trying to impose on you.

In Romans 4:17, the Bible tells us that even God “calleth those things that be not as though they were”. Also in Mark 11:23, Jesus said, “That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; He shall have whatsoever he saith”. This shows that it is what you say that you will have. Maybe you have said the right things and still saying the right things but have not seen the right results, keep saying it, don’t give up. God is too faithful to fail. He is too committed to leave you helpless. He says in Numbers 14:28, “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you”. Keep saying it, don’t stop saying it for therein lay your faith which overcometh the world. Praise the Lord!!!

INSTRUCTION: Refuse to speak negative words no matter the situation you find yourself.

PRAYER: Lord, my faith is up. I declare that henceforth I will speak right and achieve right results, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: Right sayings bring right results.
