LIGHT FOR NOW: The life we have received in Christ is not a borrowed religious experience. It flows from the Son Himself, who is the source and embodiment of life. In Him, the believer has received a life greater than mere natural existence.
There is a difference between existing and truly possessing life. Every human being has biological life, but the life revealed in Christ is deeper than physical existence. Jesus came not merely to improve human life, but to bring humanity into the reality of divine life. Jesus says, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself”. This reveals something profound about the Son. Life is not merely something external that Jesus receives occasionally. He possesses life in Himself. John repeatedly presents Jesus as the source of life. “In him was life; and the life was the light of men”. Jesus also declared: “I am the resurrection, and the life”. And again: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. The life Christ gives is therefore not merely the continuation of natural existence. It is zoe; the Greek word often used to describe the life of God, divine and eternal life (in the context of salvation).
This is the life the believer receives when he receives Christ. You were not merely given a new religion. You were given a new life. This is why salvation is described as being born again. Birth introduces a person into a particular kind of life. Natural birth brings us into human existence. Spiritual birth brings us into the life that comes from God. Peter calls believers “partakers of the divine nature”. This does not mean we become God in His absolute essence. We remain human beings. But through Christ, we genuinely participate in the life and nature that comes from God. This is the miracle of the new creation. The life within you is not sustained by the changing conditions around you. Your circumstances may change. Your emotions may change. Your environment may change. But the source of your spiritual life remains Christ.
This is why Jesus could say, “Because I live, ye shall live also”. Our life is connected to His life. His resurrection became the guarantee of our life. His victory became the foundation of our confidence. The believer therefore does not merely admire the life of Christ. He carries that life within. This changes how we face the world. We do not face darkness as empty people trying to find light. The One who is the Light lives within us. We do not face death as people without hope. The One who conquered death has become our life. We do not face the future as people searching for a source. We are already connected to the One in whom life is found. So today, become conscious of the quality of life you have received. You carry more than physical existence. You carry the life that came through Christ. And that life is greater than the limitations of the natural realm. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Throughout today, consciously remember that the life of Christ within you is your true spiritual source. Refuse to see yourself as spiritually empty or powerless. Let the reality of His life influence how you respond to every situation.
CONFESSION/PRAYER: Father, thank You for the life I have received in Christ. I declare that I am not merely existing; I possess eternal life through the Son. The life of Christ is at work within me. I am a partaker of the divine nature, and I live from a source greater than my natural limitations. Help me to walk consciously in the reality of this divine life every day, in Jesus Name. Amen.
