“For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” – Romans 8:2
LIGHT FOR NOW: Whatever can handle sin can handle death.
Resurrection is proof that you have been empowered as a Christian. Resurrection is not an event, it is a person. It is a symbol of authority, a symbol of victory in a person. Resurrection is the end of all battles. Resurrection is a public display of Satan’s defeat. To reign means to be in charge, to rule and to exercise authority. To abolish is to cancel, terminate, and remove or to wipe out. Sin brought death; it is the source of death. If sin is handled or taken away, then death is helpless. Whatever that can handle sin can also handle death (Romans 8:2; 3:23; 6:23). The reign of death operates by the law of sin and death; sin creates room for death to operate, to rule and to be in charge (Romans 5:17; Genesis 2:16-17). In the reign of death, sorrows and pains came alive. The principal manifestation of death is sorrows and toiling which means working hard and getting little and nothing in return. Death is a manifestation of a curse. By resurrection, we have been justified (Romans 5:2).
Sin no longer holds us bound; the reign of death has been abolished. Resurrection is a display of power. Therefore, Christianity is not a mere religion but a display of power. Christianity without power is a mere religion. Christianity is a display of divinity in humanity through partnership and fellowship; it is the ability to demonstrate God on earth. Every picture of the devil in the bible is actually announcing his defeat. We need to understand that everything that can make life beautiful for us has already been provided for us. Jesus is everything we could ever think of. When Jesus is delivered to us, power is delivered to us. It is this power that guarantees a victorious life on earth. Power is the dynamic ability to cause changes. The knowledge of the word of God endues one with power; this power is the name of Jesus. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stay justified.
CONFESSION: Lord, I receive understanding of what you did for me at the cross, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Your understanding determines the power you display.
