“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” – Romans 4:25
LIGHT FOR NOW: His death was the end of your sin; his resurrection was the beginning of your righteousness.
God sent Jesus, His only son to live the perfect life we could not live and to die the death we deserved. When we accept His sacrifice, we claim eternal life. His resurrection brought our justification; He put us right with God. Because of sin, humanity was separated from God and was made the enemy of God. Sin became a barrier to our eternal inheritance in Christ; it made us enemies of God. But when Christ came, God put the iniquities of us all upon him and him who knew no sin became sin for us. God then channeled His love towards us, in that, while we were still swimming and lost in sin, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). So, His death on the cross brought an end to our sins and reconciled us back to God. This means that we are justified before God. The resurrection of Jesus confirms that God accepted Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our sins to enable us be in right standing with Him. The resurrection of Christ proves that he defeated death. Death being the enemy of mankind was given a technical knockout.
The resurrection of Jesus means that believers are hopeful to rise. The bible records, “Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you” (2Corinthians 4:14). It is the will of God to raise every believer up with Christ. The resurrection of Christ is proof of that. No wonder the scripture says that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers. By this, we are united with Christ; we are in union with Him by His resurrection. The force that raised up Christ from the dead is still a mystery to the devil. This is because he tried all he could to stop Christ from rising, but Christ still rose. This is symbolic to every believer because if the devil could not stop Christ from rising, then no power on earth is strong enough to stop you from rising in life. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Know that the spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, so walk in knowledge.
CONFESSION: Lord, I take delivery of very good thing you have provided in Christ for me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: The availability of the resurrection power is what authenticates our gospel.
