“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.” – Isaiah 60:1-5

LIGHT FOR NOW: Bible study demands a quality of diligence; hence, it demands careful attention and consistency in how it is done.

Paul in his letter to Timothy and Romans spoke about this, and this is where we are going to get the depth of clarity conclusively on this. In 1Timothy 1:10, he says “For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other things that is contrary to sound doctrine”. In his letter to the church at Rome, we have full clarity of Deuteronomy 22:5, it reads “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleaness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creative more than the creator, who is blessed forever. For this cause, God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was met. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:24-32).

The TPT translation exposes verses 26-27 in a more clear language, it reads “For this reason God gave them over to their own disgraceful and vile passions. Enflamed with lust for one another, men and women ignored the natural order and exchanged normal sexual relations for homosexuality. Women engaged in lesbian conduct, and men committed shameful acts with men, receiving in themselves the due penalty for their deviation”. Evidently, the commandment of Moses was not about dressing; rather it was concerning their conducts or actions. Therefore, Deuteronomy 22:25 should not be singled out on the Christian woman as a proof of not wearing a particular kind of clothes or better still a trouser. It is noteworthy that dressing is a cultural disposition. Cultures determine what is generally accepted as female or male clothing which may differ across locations. However, to the Christian men and women, let modesty and sobriety guide your dressing. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Be moderate in your dressing.

PRAYER: My eyes of understanding are continually sharpened and enlightened, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Diligence is the vital ingredient of bible study.
