SOTERIA: THE CONCEPT OF SALVATION (14)

“And he said unto them, take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” Luke 12:15.

LIGHT FOR NOW: Knowing who you are in Christ is great wealth.

Christianity does not function in material things. As a believer in Christ, you must not base your spiritual life on material things. The things you own do not define you. When you know who you are in Christ, you begin to live right and express your nature. The power of Christ will be at work in you. Knowing who you are in Christ is the best and greatest discovery in life. You do not equate godliness with gain. 1Timothy 6:6 says, “But godliness with contentment is great gain”. Contentment is learning to be satisfied with what you have. This means you learn to do with or without things. Having material blessings is not an explanation or a proof of faith. Knowing who you are in Christ gives you the greatest freedom in life. Without a perfect understanding of your identity in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis.

When you know who you are, people and things will begin to follow you. You will be bold, speak and harvest what you say. Knowing who you are in Christ is a great wealth. Material things do not form the basis of God’s goodness toward you because God is liberal to all. The goodness of God is a person and that person is Christ. The day you understand what salvation means is the beginning of your rising. You must know that salvation is all encompassing. When you come into Christ, everything that comes with the package of salvation is automatically made available to you. In Christ, all things are yours. Hallelujah! You do not go looking for what is already yours. When you understand your identity in Christ, you do not pray for things. A man does not pray for what he already has. All you need to do is to activate the salvation package and all these things become at work in your life.

INSTRUCTION: Be conscious of who you are in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I am what the word says I am, in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: Without a perfect understanding of your identity in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis.
