“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life” Romans 6:4
LIGHT FOR NOW: By the sacrifice of Jesus, you have been joined to God.
The gospel centers on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When you believe in the gospel, automatically you and Christ become one Spirit. You have everlasting life – the very life of God (John 3:15-16). By this new life, you have been made one with God. The scriptures in 1Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit”. Also, 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit”. So having been made one with God in Christ Jesus, you are now an Ambassador of God and Christ on the earth. As Jesus walked the earth as God’s Representative; revealing and carrying out the will of His Father by the power and the spirit of God, so are you today. Jesus Christ accomplished for us a new life in God. He gave us eternal victory over the power of sin and death. He our forgiveness of sins possible. By Him, we received the gift of righteousness. In Christ, we have authority over Satan and his agents. It is, therefore, our responsibility to walk in these realities. We must always of a necessity be conscious of the One who accomplished these feats for us. We owe Christ a heart of appreciation.
Your consciousness of Christ is what makes Him real to you. We must consciously acknowledge what Christ accomplished for us. This is the only way we can appropriate and manifest the life of Christ in our lives. May we go ahead and walk in the newness of life – the very life of Christ. This is the Higher Life.
INSTRUCTION: Walk in the newness of life. Be thankful to Jesus Christ.
PRAYER: Lord, I appropriate and enjoy all that Christ accomplished for me, in Jesus Name.
QUOTE: To be conscious is to acknowledge.
