WE HAVE BEEN RECONCILED

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation; to with, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

LIGHT FOR NOW:  God does not keep record of sins against believers.

It is important to note that we cannot reconcile anybody to God by ourselves. It is God who reconciles the world to Himself through Christ. Our major responsibility is to reveal Christ to the world by taking responsibility in the ministry of reconciliation through preaching of the gospel. Our text for today reveals that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. This means that God is no longer counting the sin of men against men in as much as they believe in Christ. Jesus Christ had paid for the sins of the world. God has been reconciled to all men (Romans 10:5). But not all men have been reconciled to God because not all men have received the love and reconciliation that God has freely offered to them through Christ. This is the reason we must preach the gospel of the love and grace of God that is in Christ Jesus. You cannot reconcile a man to God by condemning him. The Gospel of Christ is not a message of condemnation but that of love and hope. The gospel of Christ reveals the love of God towards man in that while man was still useless, hopeless and helpless; God sent his Son, Jesus Christ to die for the sins of man in order to bring man back to Himself.

We can reveal Jesus to the world both by living His life, by projecting Him through our professions and by preaching the gospel through various means and media. We must continue to focus on Him and enthrone Him as the Lord over our lives. This way, our lives will ascend from one dimension of glory to another.  “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). You are at peace with God. He is not and cannot be with you. Praise the Lord!!!

INSTRUCTION: Preach the gospel of Christ with boldness. Be bold as you do so.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for reconciling me to yourself, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: Salvation is God’s business and a most flourishing one at that.
