“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” 2 Timothy 3:15
LIGHT FOR NOW: Faith in Christ is liberty or freedom for all.
Our salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus. The greatest problem of mankind was sin. Therefore, the greatest deliverance that can be ministered to a man is the forgiveness of sins. Sin was never in the plan of God. Death was never a creation of God. Sin and death are strange to God. The Bible records that all that God created was good. Sin and death are never good creations. This is the reason God came to fight sin by Himself because sin was never part of his plans for man. When you take away sin, death is helpless. Salvation is not just about the forgiveness of sins but also the freedom from the power of sin and death. The fruits of sin have been swallowed all up by salvation.
Salvation is a total package. Everything needed for godliness and life has been made available to believers, but they have to come to this knowledge. In doing this, God had to become man; come down from heaven and walk the earth as a man in order to bring redemption to man. God became a man in order to bear the sins of man so that the sins of man can be remitted (2 Corinthians 5:21).
The sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross paid the full price for the sin of man. The message of Christ is that of freedom from sin. Christ made a down-payment for sin. He dealt with it and consequently, death was out of the way. This is because the wages of sin is death. So, whatever can handle sin, can take care of death. And Jesus did just that.
Christ did not just save us; He keeps us saved. Our sin record was abolished; we obtained forgiveness and He keeps us save from destruction. This is what salvation is all about. Salvation is faith in Christ. Faith in Christ is liberty or freedom for all who believe! Man is no longer in bondage. Hebrews 2:14-15 buttresses this truth. It reads, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. Have faith in Christ. He saved you and you are free indeed! Read John 8:32. Halleluiah!
