BELIEVERS’ BLESSINGS ARE IN CHRIST

‘But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and most perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building’ – Hebrews 9:11.

LIGHT FOR NOW:Christ tasted death for every man.

Jesus Christ represents all believers; past, present and those who will believe Him in the future. He is their High Priest; He is their Mediator. In what way is He the High Priest of Good things to come? This means that Jesus was made the High Priest of good things to come. It also means that He stands for Good. This is because everything about Him is good! Thirdly, Jesus Christ is the administrator of good things. Oh, God has good things to deliver to the church, and it is Jesus that administers it to them. God cannot relate with anyone outside Christ. If He must relate with you, He must go through Christ. Therefore, all our blessings are packaged in Christ.

In Philemon 1:6 Paul says ‘That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus’. The good thing in you is in Christ Jesus. What His death and redemption have done for you is good. His office as the High Priest to us is good. How important for you to enforce the priesthood of Christ! Hebrews 7:26.

He is holy. He is harmless. He is undefiled. He is separate from sinners. All this means that Jesus cannot harm us. He cannot corrupt us or defile us spiritually. Recall that Adam walked away from God and thus corrupted all men spiritually (Romans 3:23). When you are separated from God, it will eventually affect you physically. Spiritual death precedes the physical one.

You are all of Christ. He has made you to be, whatever He is today! Upon His conquest in Hell, He was inaugurated as the High Priest of all believers. ‘Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed’ (Isaiah 53:4-5). Hebrews 2:9 says concerning His suffering ‘But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by grace of God should taste death for every man’.He tasted death for every man. Jesus Christ died for all men. What a High Priest Christ is. In Christ and through Him, we can see an unconditional love of God for mankind. Indeed, believers’ blessings are in Christ!

INSTRUCTION: Accept Jesus as your High Priest.

PRAYER: The Lord Christ is my High Priest, I acknowledge His Priesthood over my life, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Spiritual death precedes the physical one
