THE REALITY OF REDEMPTION

“Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” – Luke24:25-27.

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are a son of God! There is no doubt about it.

I will not relent in teaching Christ to the world, because He is the focus of the scriptures. Jesus Christ Himself lays credence to this as shown in today’s key text. It is worthy of note that Luke 24:25-27 was about His resurrection. So, Jesus Christ here affirms that the prophecies uttered by prophets (as contained in Genesis through Malachi) were referring primarily to Himself. The prophetsspoke concerning His sufferings and the glory that should follow. The focus of the prophecies of the prophets (in the holy scriptures) was Christ. So, it can be rightly said that Jesus is not just one of the Bible Characters; Jesus is the maincharacter and the central figure of the Bible. Brother Peter alluded to this truth when he stated, Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow’ -1 Peter 1:10-11). It suffices to say that the key to insightful study of the scripture is to analyze the scripture with eyes on Christ. As you study the Bible, use your binoculars and search Christ therein.

He is indelibly written in the scriptures in types and shadows. As you search, you will definitely find Him. Christ is the reality of Redemption. His suffering, death, burial, resurrection and ascension makes our redemption a reality! Without His death and subsequent resurrection, mankind would be doomed. We would be perpetual sinners without knowing the way out. We would remain in bondage to sin and death. Recall that it takes a free man to bail a bond man. You, who were once alienated from God has now been adopted by Him – you are now a son of God!‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father’(Romans 8: 14-15).You are a Son of God through faith in Christ Jesus. This is, indeed, the reality of redemption! Walk in this reality with your head lifted! You are a son of God! No doubt about it.

INSTRUCTION: As you search the scripture, you will definitely find Christ. Tell others about Christ.

PRAYER:Jesus, you are my Redeemer. I thank you; I adore you, in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: Christ is the reality of Redemption.
