“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” – 2 Timothy 3:15.
LIGHT FOR NOW:The greatest need of any man is freedom from sin.
Salvation is a state of being free from sin. This is why the message of Christ is the message of freedom from sin. Romans 5:18 says“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life”.Sin was not part of God’s creation. Sin is strange to God. Sin entered the world by man. There was no sin until Adam created it. So, man is the creator of sin. Sin gave birth to death and death rules over man.
Death is Satan’s weapon while sin is his legal authority. Without sin, Satan would not have authority over anybody. The greatest bondage of man is the bondage of sin and death. So, the deliverance everyman needs is the forgiveness of sin. When Adam sinned, all of us were in his loins – totally condemned to death. We all are partakers of Adam’s sin; consequently, we all shared in his death sentence. In this sentence, the generations yet unborn are included. What a mess! No wonder, Paul speaking in Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”.
Adam established a pattern in unbelief by his choice and de-natured man. Sin became the nature of man – man sins naturally without being taught! Praisebe to Christ, who took the initiative on the redemption plans. Salvation did not just bring forgiveness of sins to us, it also brought freedom from sin and death. Salvation is a comprehensive package. As a man, Jesus removed sin from us through His sacrifice on the Cross. Isaiah 53:5-6 says “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”. Christ did not just save us but He is keeping us saved. Salvation is faith in Christ which also means liberty for all. Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION: Have faith in Christ!
PRAYER:Lord, I receive you into my life as my Lord and Savior, in Jesus name.
QUOTE: What handles sin can also handle death.
