WALKING IN VICTORY (10)

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” – Revelation 12:11

LIGHT FOR NOW: The victory of the believer is deeply connected to the blood of Jesus and the confession of faith flowing from revealed truth.

One of the most powerful revelations in scripture is the victory secured through the blood of Jesus Christ. Many believers sing about the blood, but few truly understand its spiritual significance. Revelation 12:11 says: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…” The word “overcame” again comes from the Greek word nikao—to conquer, prevail, or triumph victoriously. This reveals that the blood of Jesus is not merely symbolic; it is a weapon of covenant victory.
Throughout scripture, blood represents life. Leviticus 17:11 says: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood…” Under the Old Covenant, animal sacrifices temporarily covered sin, but they could never completely remove it. Hebrews 10 explains that those sacrifices were shadows pointing toward Christ. But when Jesus came, He did not offer the blood of animals; He offered Himself. Hebrews 9:12 says: “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”. The word “redemption” comes from the Greek word lutrosis, meaning release by ransom, deliverance by payment, or liberation through a price paid. This means the blood of Jesus secured eternal deliverance for the believer. The blood speaks of forgiveness, justification, cleansing, access to God, victory over Satan.

One major truth believers must understand is this: Satan’s accusations lose power where the blood is understood. The enemy constantly reminds people of guilt, shame, and failure. But the blood of Jesus speaks a greater message than human weakness. Hebrews 12:24 says the blood of Jesus “speaketh better things…” Abel’s blood cried for judgment after Cain killed him, but Jesus’ blood speaks mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation. This is why believers must stop approaching God with an inferiority mindset. The blood has already granted access. Ephesians 2:13 says: “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ”.
The blood brought us near. But Revelation 12:11 does not stop there. It says: “…and by the word of their testimony”. The believer must not only know the victory of the blood, he must declare it boldly. The word “testimony” comes from the Greek word marturia, meaning witness, declaration, or evidence given. This reveals an important spiritual principle: What believers continually confess affects their spiritual atmosphere. Many believers speak more about fear, defeat, and problems than they speak about redemption. But faith speaks differently. Your mouth must align with God’s word. When David stood before Goliath, he spoke victory before he physically saw victory. The believer’s confession is not denial of challenges; it is agreement with God’s reality above circumstances. There is power in speaking what Christ has accomplished. The blood of Jesus gives the believer a new standing, and the confession of faith enforces that reality daily.

INSTRUCTION: Become intentional about speaking God’s word over your life. Refuse to constantly speak fear, defeat, negativity, or hopelessness.

PRAYER: I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. Through the blood of Jesus, I am forgiven, accepted, cleansed, and victorious. My words align with God’s truth, and I walk daily in faith and triumph. Amen.
