KNOWLEDGE, A NECESSITY (2)

“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling; and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” – Ephesians 1:16:22

LIGHT FOR NOW: Knowledge can not be over-emphasized for the believer; the believer needs it more than anything after salvation.

It was established in a previous study that every believer is born with an intuitive knowledge of the son. However, the believer can not mature on intuitive knowledge. He can only mature on acquired knowledge. Acquired knowledge is not what you passively have. Rather, it depicts what you follow after or you are extremely particular about. When a believer does not bother to know about his faith, then he can be as one who is willfully ignorant.

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” The phrase “know ye not” refers to something that stays in your mind.

This shows that the audience in question chose not to put this fact in their minds. They were most likely not paying attention to it.
In 1 Corinthians 14, Paul lets us see that there are things that the believer ought to be willfully ignorant about; for example, malice. In the understanding of the love walk, we ought to be mature. A vital example of an active pursuit of knowledge is seen in Philippians 3:10 “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death”. Historically, Paul made the above statement after 30 years in ministry. This points to you that knowledge is a necessity in the Christian faith. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Knowledge is a necessity; go for it.

CONFESSION: I choose to seek diligently for accurate and precise knowledge of the son, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

QUOTE: If you are not knowledge driven, you will be ignorant stricken.
