GIVING THANKS (1)

“Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves], That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world” – Philippians 2:14-15 (AMPC)

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer should not give a space and place to murmuring, grumbling, and complaining; he should rather give thanks.

In our newfound life in Christ, we have a feature called Thanksgiving. Giving thanks should never be occasional; it should be part of us as a lifestyle. Salvation has a fruit called joy. The joy we have in salvation is not borne from any excitement of temporary relief. Rather, this joy is in-built, within the recreated human spirit. The scripture did say in Isaiah 12:3 “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation”. So, how do we draw from the wells of salvation? It is with joy, not with sadness, complain, murmuring, anxiety, or fear. So, joy is the fruit of salvation. The believer has the joy of the spirit. In his recreated human spirit is the nature of joy, gladness, and rejoicing.

In this line of thoughts, Apostle Paul echoed in Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”. Notice, “joy in the Holy Ghost”. So we are joyful people. Believers must never be found grumbling, murmuring, or complaining. Grumbling is a presence of doubt. Grumbling indicates that doubt and anxiety are in operation. Paul has this to say in 1Corinthians 10:10 “Nor discontentedly complain as some of them did – and were put out of the way actively by the destroyer (death)”. We don’t give complaints and grumbling a place in our lives; we rejoice always and give thanks forever more. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Refuse to dwell in complains and murmurings.

DECLARATION: I refuse to murmur and grumble. I would rather give thanks because God’s word is true, in Jesus’ Name, Amen

QUOTE: God’s word is true even as God Himself is true.
