“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. – Romans 10:8-10
LIGHT FOR NOW: Reign in Christ
Ephesians 1:19-21 in The Passion Translation has been our main stay for now, it reads, “I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of the immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honour and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! And now he is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is every name that is ever praised, not only in this age; but in the age that is coming!”
These words spoken by Paul or revealed by Paul here concerning Jesus relate to us in him. Hence, the new birth is a resurrection because the resurrection power gave birth to us. Observe Paul’s saying that “this power is made available to you through faith”. The Amplified Version says “this power is in us and for us”. In other words, do you know that we house God’s resurrection power? Yes, we house God’s power. Reigning in Christ, which includes reigning over devils, means exercising our authority, dominion, right, privileges, and power in Christ. Paul has made it clear to us that God’s power resides in us. So the born-again man is God’s power house. You reign over devils because the power of God became yours at new birth. You operate the highest sphere of power. You are not in lack of power, and you are not in need of power. All the power you need or will ever need as a believer entered you at new birth. You are in the realm of power above all other realms of power. And that is why Satan, demons, and devils can not make noise where you are. If they make noise, shut them up, and they will obey. You are in charge. God’s power is your power. Devils and demons are subjected to you because of this reality. Glory!
