“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. – Romans 10:8-10
LIGHT FOR NOW: When you are in faith, you are immovable.
Faith functions in two places. The first place is the heart, and the second place is the mouth. The faith that we have in our hearts is static and enduring. Once a person believes something with his heart, it becomes fixed, and no one can talk that person out of it, even if it isn’t the truth.
When we believe the gospel or the goodnews with our hearts, we are made right with God as declared in the book of Romans 10:10 “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved”. When we become convinced or persuaded about God’s words (Gospel), it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Sadly, some people believe the truth of the goodnews intellectually, but there is no persuasion in their heart about the spirit of truth, which is in them.
Intellectual beliefs most times struggle with feeling assured about the salvation that Christ offers. It becomes possible for them to be swayed by the wind of trials or persuasive argument.
When believers know the truth in their hearts, they have the assurance of salvation and can never be moved. When a man knows who he is in Christ and believes this truth in his heart, living out this truth will be effortless. When this happens, evidence of the fruit of the spirit becomes obvious. This is what is called transformation, as seen in Roman 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then, you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stay fixed and immovable. Faith works!
CONFESSION: I declare that I am static and immovable in faith, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
QUOTE: Surrender your doubts to faith, and faith will conquer your doubts.
