“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20
LIGHT FOR NOW: You will never be more powerful as a believer in Christ than the day you got saved.
Since the word efficacy or potency deals with power, strength, ability or capacity, it is needful to look closely into the power at work in the believer. Our previous study can make us speak in the affirmative that there is power at work in the believer. On this wise, Paul says in Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”. Notice, “according to the power at work in us”. He didn’t say:
- According to the power at work in pastors only.
- According to the power that works in prayer houses.
He said “according to the power at work in us (believers)”. Why run to prayer houses where you will likely be abused and scammed by so called prophets, whereas the power to change and rearrange things is at work in you? Do you know that you carry power? You carry in you the maximum load of God; you carry in you all of God’s power, and yet you are just accepting what life throws at you. It’s even more saddening that many believers rather than making power available in the place of prayers to change and rearrange things, spend that time in prayer to ask God for power. God’s power does not come in measures; it doesn’t increase or reduce. When you got born again, the totality of God’s power entered you. So, you don’t have a power problem. However, your prayer should be for the knowledge of the operation of this power. This is where we have the difference; no believer has more of God’s power than another because God’s power didn’t come in measure neither does it increase or decrease, but some believers have a working knowledge of this power than others, that is, they have put God’s power to work in their life more than others. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Put God’s power in you to work.
CONFESSION: I declare that I constantly put God’s power to work in my life, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer carries the totality of God’s power.
