“Even when we were dead in sin, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” – Ephesians 2:5-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Today the believer is a son of God modeled after Jesus who is the first begotten or firstborn from the resurrection.
Jesus as Christ is seated at the right hand of God, the believer is also seated. David in Psalm 2:7 says “I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee”. In Acts 13:32-33, we see Psalm 2:7 referenced, it reads “And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee”. The son in incarnation is not the son in resurrection. They are two different statuses. At the resurrection, we now have one father; Hebrews 2:11. In the resurrection, his name speaks of many sons. The name speaks of our sonship today in Christ. His name in the four gospels healed the sick, calmed storms but no one received eternal life in his name. Today, we are sons, we are begotten of God, and we have life in his name.
The fact of our authority in the name of Jesus is a fact of our identification with him. All the father gave to Jesus, he gave to the church; us in him. What is in Christ is ours. He doesn’t give us, we have because we are in him. We are in him now, same spirit, same Father, same life. Do you know that the greater one lives inside of you and you live in the greater one in Christ? Do you know that you are exactly as Jesus is? The authority of Jesus belongs to you. His life is your life. You are in him, he is in you. You share in the same DNA with Jesus. Jesus is in authority, so you are in authority. You are not inferior to Jesus, as he is so are you. The authority of Jesus is yours now and always. Use that authority; put that authority to work. When you arrived in Christ, you arrived in the place of highest authority and power, where principalities and powers bow. The name of Jesus is yours, use it!
INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge who you are.
CONFESSION: I am in Christ. We have the same spirit, same father, same life, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer and Christ are inseparable.
