“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16
LIGHT FOR NOW: The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto our salvation.
In dealing with the subject of power, first thing to note is that God’s power cannot be explained outside salvation (Romans 1:16). The word “power” here was translated from the Greek word “dunamis” which implies inherent power; power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature. This means that the power of God is inherent in the gospel of Christ. Thus, when you hear God’s word, you are hearing power. The strength or power of anything is in the name of Jesus. The personality of Jesus is an embodiment of power on its own. The name of Jesus is power because heaven and earth recognises this name (John 1:12). Your connection with Jesus empowers you for a life of power. The potency in the name of Jesus confronts whatever confronts you in life.
The name of Jesus is so powerful that it offers safety to everyone who runs to him. Your relationship with Jesus gives you power over the circumstances of life. To enjoy a life of power and glory in all that you do, stay connected to Jesus. Just as it is in the natural that men boast of who they know to gain favour, the name of Jesus is the surest access to power, glory, favour and relevance. When you are in trouble, all you need is to demonstrate the power and glory of God embedded in your inside. Many have suffered what they shouldn’t have suffered because they never recognised the power in the name of Jesus that is at work in their inside. There is so much power in the name of Jesus that principalities and powers bow to His name. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Recognise the power in the name of Jesus that is at work in your inside.
PRAYER: I declare over my life that in this year, I will not live a powerless life. The name of Jesus will show up for me this year every time I need Him, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: The power of God is inherent in the gospel of Christ.
