“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” – Romans 6:4
LIGHT FOR NOW: The Christ life is God alive in a man.
Romans 8:11 that says, “But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you” affirms the fact that it wasn’t a mere change that took place in you when you became born again. Actually, a supplanting or replacement of our former life took place. You now have the God – life in you by His spirit which implies that you can no longer be described as someone who used to be this or that because you have no past. You are a brand new specie according to 2 Corinthians 5:16-17. “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believe, ye were sealed with the holy spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13). At salvation, we were catapulted into the kingdom of God’s dear son. “For you were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8). We have been brought into a life of triumph. And Paul affirming this said, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…” (2 Corinthians 2:114). The Christ life is God alive in man; it is the amalgamation of immortality with mortality; it is the union of deity with man. Why the believer is called “son of God” is because of this union. The Christ-life is God in His spirit and by His spirit, living out through the believer; it is divinity at work in humanity.
But sadly, many believers don’t understand the implication of God dwelling in them by His spirit; and that is the trick of religion. And as a result, they live below their calling; they walk as though they had never received eternal life. After being recreated (after salvation), the mind of the believer ought to be educated, trained and developed by the word, to adapt to his new status in Christ. As long as we keep allowing our senses to dictate for us, we will keep walking as mere men. The believer has limitless possibilities within this divine life; there is no limit to this new life. The ability of God that is within us is utterly limitless. Hence, you have to be taught to have the revelation of this triumphant and exultant life of the supernatural that you’ve been called into. Such an understanding will put springs in your steps; to know that you have the very nature of God in your human spirit and His pulsating life in every fiber of your being. Such will entirely change your perception in life. Our heavenly Father wants us to be redemption-minded; victory-minded; not circumstance-minded; sickness-minded or failure-minded. 2 Corinthians 3:5 reminds us that our sufficiency is of God; and the Greek word for “sufficiency” is “hikanotes” which refers to competence, being qualified enough to be able. So our ability is drawn from God; He is the very strength of our lives; we don’t need to cry for faith; nor strength because in Christ, we have it all. Beloved, know because of the Christ life in you, victory belongs to you; there’s no limit to what you can achieve in life. GLORY!
