“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith” Romans 1:16-17
LIGHT FOR NOW: God does not send people to hell; heaven or hell is guaranteed in the choice of man.
We’ve established from Genesis 2:7 where man was formed that the statement “of the dust of the ground” means man is of the earth. The statement “breath of life” in Genesis 2:7 which has been misconstrued to mean the life of God actually means that which animates the body. So, “breath of life” here is not the life of God, rather, it is to explain the fact that man began living as that breath came into him. The breath of life there is not eternal life, but it is to explain the existence of man, that is, the terrestrial existence of man. That is why the next statement says “and man became a living soul”. That term “living soul” is to buttress the terrestrial existence of man. So Adam was not formed with eternal life inside him, that is why in the Eden scenario, eternal life was offered to Adam for Adam to make a choice of belief or unbelief. Eternal life wouldn’t have been offered to him if he had it in the first place. Adam was offered Christ (the saviour) for him to make a choice of faith or unbelief. The choice Adam made will reveal to us if he had this life or not.
The question in the heart of many is, how was Christ offered to Adam in Eden since we don’t see Jesus in Eden? Now for God to give Adam the choice of salvation or eternal life in other that Adam may make his choice of faith or unbelief will mean God’s plan had already been before man came to be. Meaning, God’s plan of salvation or life in Christ (eternal life) will not be a reaction but a pro-action. Don’t forget, Adam never had the life of God in him upon his creation/formation, his choice of being persuaded by God’s word (faith) is the only way he can have that life. The state of man (Adam) was upon his formation is called innocence. Man (Adam) was innocent, but he will be offered a choice for him to make; it is in that choice that we can now draw the dividing line. That already shows you that man is a creature of choice. Meaning, God will not usurp a man’s will. It is in the choice of man that heaven or hell is guaranteed. God does not send people to hell, it is the choice of man (that is, the choice of unbelief to God’s offer which is Christ) that sends a man to hell. That is why it is faith in Christ that draws the dichotomy between the saved and the damned.
