“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith” Romans 1:16-17
LIGHT FOR NOW: The goodness, power and love of God are found in Christ.
It’s clear that the gospel of Christ is the good news of God’s goodness to humanity. This goodness is seen in His saving ability. Notice that the saving ability of God or the power of God to save is in the gospel of Christ. Meaning, God’s power to save is not outside the gospel of Christ. So, outside the gospel of Christ, God has no power to save anybody. Also remember, God’s power is within the conduit of salvation. So, God’s power is defined in salvation. There is thus no power of God outside salvation that can save anybody. God’s power to save a man is not outside the gospel of Christ. In essence, God cannot save a man outside Christ. A man is only saved in Christ, how? We will see the “how” as the study continues. Take note:
- There is no power of God outside Christ that can save man.
- There is no goodness of God outside Christ that can save a man.
- There is no love of God outside Christ that can save a man.
- God’s power that saves is in Christ.
- God’s goodness that saves is in Christ.
- God’s love that saves is in Christ.
- Jesus is the power of God
- Jesus is the goodness of God
- Jesus is the love of God.
Now, question: Where is God’s power seen? In salvation. Where is the goodness of God seen? In salvation. Where is God’s love seen? In salvation. Who is the custodian of all of the above? The answer is Jesus. The love of God to man is seen in salvation. The goodness of God to man is seen in salvation. And Jesus is the custodian of God’s love and in Him alone is salvation found. So what then is salvation? Who is the saviour? Why salvation? How is a man saved? What is the study of salvation? How will the study of salvation be understood in your study of the bible? Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION: Follow through the study.
PRAYER: I declare that revelation knowledge flows freely on my inside, in Jesus Name, Amen.
