“In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. “And I will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you”” – John 14:2-3, 16-18
LIGHT FOR NOW: The Father’s house is in the born again man.
In our previous study, we’ve established that the Holy Spirit is the signature of everything God has done for us in Christ. All that God did for us in Christ is found in the spirit. Don’t forget that the believer being the permanent residence of the Father is a spiritual reality. The believer being in the household or family of God is a spiritual truth; and this happened by faith in Christ. Thus, the believer is the temple, abode of the Father forever. So, the Father’s house is not Moses’ temple or Solomon’s temple or Nehemiah’s temple, neither is it any of the greatest and most beautiful crafted cathedrals of our time where believers gather. The Father’s house is in the believer. That was why in Paul’s letters to the Corinthian church, he emphatically explained the same truth. In 1Corinthians 3:16, Paul says “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?” So, who is the believer? The believer is the temple of God. The believer is God’s house. The believer houses God. The spirit of God dwells in the believer. You have been sealed in the Holy Ghost; the permanent residence of the Father. You are the residential address of deity. Deity dwells in your humanity; immortality resides in your mortality. You are the address of God. You are not going to be made a living sanctuary; God is not going to prepare you a sanctuary, you are the sanctuary. The tabernacle of the Father is you; the dwelling place of the Father is you. You are the reality of the Father’s dwelling. You are God’s own house. Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge you realities!
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for making me your dwelling place; I am forever occupied by this reality, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The Father’s dwelling place is in the believer.
